The Shell of Man

The Shell of Man

The shell, torn,
Where the rock had ripped a gash,
Gaped like a mouth
Suffering hurt.
He probed, gently, the wound,
As though with the fingers
Of a blind man reading braille,
As though he was probing
The wound to his psyche.
